The Rundown from Band Aid 30

Seeing as the official Band Aid 30 song jumped straight in at No 1 yesterday, we thought we’d give you a list of this year’s featured artists and a few side notes to go with it!

First off, all of Bastille. For those of you racking your brain, these guys hit the charts with hits such as ‘Pompeii’ from their album ‘Bad Blood’ in 2013 and have a huge fan base with tracks such as ‘Flaws’. We are avid followers of Bastille here at soundjack.

Ed Sheeran, another soundjack favorite who has hit the UK charts by storm this year with his album ‘X’. One of the tracks, ‘Don’t’, on this album was (awkwardly) about another Band Aid 30 member, Ellie Goulding. Wonder how that went down in the studio!

The incredible Mercury Award winner Jessie Ware, who didn’t get a solo alongside the amazing Paloma Faith who did! Another female act we were happy to see was Emilie Sande, who featured a great deal in the London Olympics with stunning tracks like ‘Heaven’.

One Direction to get the vote of the female fans! They have also just released a new album, which we know has been very popular with our soundjack followers. Alongside them includes their X Factor friend and star Olly Murs.

Classic acts also featured include Bono, Seal, Sinead O’Connor, Chris Martin and of course the man himself Bob Geldof with co founder of Band Aid back in 1984, Midge Ure.

Other pop acts include Rita Ora, Grace Chatto and Neil Amin-Smith from Clean Bandit and Sam Smith. If you follow us on Twitter or Facebook, you will know that we are huge Sam Smith supporters. He has blown us away with tracks like ‘Stay With Me’, ‘Latch’ and ‘I’m Not the Only One’ over the past year.

An unusual addition to this year’s BA, are a collection of YouTube bloggers including Joe Sugg, Alfie Deyes and Zoe Sugg (who we can presume is the sister of Joe?).
